Urmila Kailash Black Box to launch during Kanoria Centre for Arts’ 40th anniversary celebrations
Ahmedabad has grown to be a city that celebrates arts in full glory. Adding to the long list of places that offer spaces that initiate, promote and enjoy fine arts, theatre and varied performances is Kanoria Centre for Arts (KCA) that is launching Urmila Kailash Black Box, “a multi-functional experimental space that would host a range of artistic and cultural activities” on Friday.
Urmila Kanoria, along with daughter Sangita Jindal, will launch the space along with other programmes to celebrate the centre’s 40th anniversary. ‘Portraits and Spaces: Balkrishna Doshi in His Own Creations’, photographs by Vinay Panjwani, will be exhibited accompa- nied by a performance by Manasi Karani and team.
Kanoria along with KCA Honorary Director Gargi Yadav, shared other projects that they aim to begin on campus. “I go back 40 years each time I am here at KCA. I now look forward to launching a Residency as well as a Crafts Centre here next,” says Kanoria.
