The Indian government plans to help 12.5 lakh students prepare for competitive exams by 2029. The goal is to reduce the need for private coaching, which can disadvantage students from low-income backgrounds.
the Ministry of Education will discuss this plan with state governments during a two-day meeting. The meeting will focus on implementing the National Education Policy, 2020, including accreditation and digital learning.
The government wants to create a program called “SATHEE” to offer free digital resources for competitive exam preparation. The program will use AI-based learning tools and collaborate with institutions like IITs and AIIMS to develop high-quality content. “Through this programme, the govt hopes to create a level playing field by offering structured support, particularly for those in underserved regions,” a government official told
The meeting will also address expanding digital learning. The government aims to achieve two crore new enrollments in online courses through its SWAYAM platform over the next five years.
