According to the schedule released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Class 10 board examinations will begin on February 16, 2027, with the Painting paper. Mathematics (Standard and Basic), one of the key subjects, will be held on February 17.
The examinations will conclude on March 9.
For Class 12 students, the first major examination, Physics, is scheduled for February 16, with the examinations continuing until April 9, 2027.
All papers will begin at 10:30 am (IST). The timetable covers 83 subjects for Class 10 and 121 subjects for Class 12.CBSE said that more than 40,000 subject combinations were taken into account while preparing the examination schedule to ensure that students do not face clashes between subjects they have opted for.
The Board has also provided sufficient gaps between examinations for subjects that are commonly chosen together.
While finalising the timetable, the Board considered the tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for Class 12 students.
This was done to ensure that the board examinations conclude well before entrance tests begin, giving students adequate time to prepare. The number of candidates appearing at examination centres on different days was also considered to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
The Board further stated that the schedule has been planned to minimise the prolonged absence of teachers from schools during the evaluation process. Announcing the timetable early is expected to help students plan their preparation, manage examination-related stress and organise their studies more effectively.
