As Gujarat gears up for electoral fervor, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad has witnessed a surge in charter aircraft movements. Political heavyweights descending upon the state for campaign rallies have contributed to the heightened air traffic, with the general aviation terminal at SVPI airport recording an estimated 870 charter aircraft movements, including private jets and helicopters, during the month of April alone.
