Two died and four people including children were injured after a truck carrying oxygen cylinders caught fire on the Bavla-Sarkhej stretch of the highway in Ahmedabad. The oxygen cylinders in the truck exploded due to the fire and were thrown off the vehicle. The flaming truck and scattered oxygen cylinders resulted in traffic in one direction getting blocked on the highway.
The truck carrying oxygen cylinders was on its way to Sari village in Sanand when it caught fire. Two people – Deepak kumar Domi Paswan and Mahesh kumar Paswan of Bihar – who were in the cabin of the truck died in the blaze but the truck driver was rescued.
As many as four pedestrians including a 9-year-old child were injured when the oxygen bottles in the truck exploded into the air.
