Ahmedabad Metro Rail Service has successfully completed one year. Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi on 30 September 2022 launched this service.
In this one year, an average of daily 90 thousand passengers on normal days and an average of 75 thousand passengers on holidays have traveled in Metro Rail. Initially, metro service was available at 30-minute intervals now metro service is provided every 12 minutes.
The timing of metro services was from 9 am to 8 pm, which has now been changed from 6:20 am to 10 pm. If one vehicle is counted between two to three passengers, it can be estimated that the annual movement of around 70 lakh vehicles has decreased on the roads of Ahmedabad during this year. As a result, road traffic was reduced and air pollution in the city was significantly reduced.
