Gujarat University police arrested Auto Driver For Beating Class 1 Child With a Stick. accused identified as Zafirhusain Shaikh.
A 7-year-old Class 1 student of St. Xavier’s School, Loyola, was left with welts on his chest and back after he was allegedly beaten by his rickshaw driver.
The driver was agitated over the child’s playful behaviour and beat him up with a stick. The incident took place on August 3, shortly after noon outside the school premises.
The driver Zafirhusain Shaikh, who drives a school auto bearing registration GJ-01-AY-2116, used to ferry the child to and from school for a monthly fee of Rs 1,500. On Thursday he beat up the child and the parents came to know of it when the child returned home in tears bearing welts on his chest and back.
The parents then filed a complaint with the Gujarat University Police Station against the driver. police have arrested the driver Zafirhusain Shaikh and booked him under IPC section 323 and The Juvenile Justice Act section 75.
