73 cases of dengue and 37 cases of malaria, one of falciparum, and one of chikungunya case have been reported in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation limits in the last 23 days.
In the same period, there were 773 cases of diarrhoea, 134 of jaundice, 325 of typhoid, and six cases of cholera. In Vayva, three cases of cholera were reported besides one each in Indrapuri, Lambha and Thaltej.
To control the spread of vector-borne diseases, health authorities had conducted Survey across the city to check for mosquito breeding sites. they inspected 520 commercial establishments on Wednesday and issued notices to 335 of them for mosquito breeding, imposing fines totalling to Rs 10.38 lakh.
A commercial unit was sealed in India Colony while another in Naroda was fined Rs 1 lakh, said a statement issued by the AMC.
