Only three months after the inauguration, potholes have seen on the Sanathal Overbridge in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) had built 1.38 km long bridge at a cost of 96 crores. On this newly constructed bridge, potholes and gravel seen in some places. the damaged portion of the bridge was currently barricaded.
The contract for the bridge was given to Rachna Construction Company. Delph Consultants and Kasad Consultants were entrusted as project consultant agencies.
The Sanathal Bridge on the Ahmedabad Rajkot Highway has a width of 33,750 meters. It has been reported that 25,000 small and big vehicles and 5,000 commercial vehicles cross the bridge every day.
Ahmedabad is constantly witnessing a huge mess in the road and bridge works. First Hatkeshwar Bridge, then Khokra Bridge, Shastri Bridge and now Sanathal Bridge, corruption is coming to the fore.
