According to reports, WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has added a new “reply with a message” feature to its call notifications for some Android beta testers. According to the business, more people will soon have access to the feature.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature will allow users to instantly decline an incoming call while also sending a message to the caller. WhatsApp users will now see a new “reply” button alongside the existing “decline” and “answer” buttons on incoming call alerts.
If a user taps the “reply” button, the incoming call is denied and a message box opens immediately, allowing the user to write a brief message to the caller, according to the reports.
This feature is useful when the user is unable to answer a call, such as during a meeting, but wishes to recognise the caller and express that they will react as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has announced that through its multidevice login feature, users will be able to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones. Users can now link up to four extra devices to their phone.
