At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) began on Friday with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on the reigning winners Gujarat Titans (GT). After winning the toss, GT skipper Hardik Pandya selected to bowl first. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 50-ball 92 put CSK in position to make a huge total, but some strong recovery from GT bowlers allowed them to contain CSK to 178/7 in 20 overs.

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubham Gill made 37 runs in response, and GT also got off to a fast start before the wicketkeeper batter for GT was killed by Rajvardhan Hanrekar. The largest stadium in the world hosted a star-studded opening ceremony prior to the start of everything. Arijit Singh, a well-known Bollywood singer, also thrilled the crowd with a powerful show.
As everyone watched intently, Singh was seen stroking CSK skipper MS Dhoni’s feet. On social media, images of Arijit Singh bending down to stroke Dhoni’s feet have gone viral.
Speaking of the match, GT also crushed the CSK bowlers, hitting 138/4 in 15 overs in response to CSK’s 178/7. Shubham Gill of GT made a 36-ball 63 to aid Gujarat’s effort to reach the target.
