According to police, four people were killed and 17 were injured in two separate accidents in Gujarat on Wednesday.
Accidents occurred in the districts of Anand and Morbi in last 12 hours. Two children were killed in the Anand accident.
Lalabhai Jarodhra stated in a police complaint filed with the Tarapur police station that the driver of a truck with registration GJ-12- AT-7083, which was heading towards Vadodara on Tuesday night, lost control and the truck overturned. According to the complainant, the truck collided with his family members who were standing on the roadside, killing his father and niece on the spot. His mother, wife, and sister-in-law were all injured, as was his niece. Later, he learned that his second niece had also died as a result of her injuries. The truck driver fled the scene of the accident.
Another accident occurred on Wednesday morning when three vehicles collided, killing one passenger on the spot and injuring 12 others. The injured were taken to hospitals in Halvad and Surendranagar.
The accident happened in the early hours of Wednesday when a concrete mixer truck collided with a state transport bus, and then a car collided with the truck near Kavadiya Square in Morbi district. A 65-year-old man was killed on the spot in this accident.
