Gujarat has a total of 4.90 crore voters; the election commission has released the final electoral roll. In the state, 11.62 lakh new voters have been registered.
The state election commission released the final electoral roll of the state on Monday, revealing a total of 4.90 crore voters.
There are a total 2,53,36,610 male voters and 2,37,51,738 female voters. Some 1,417 are third-gender voters, 4.61 lakh voters from the age group 18-19 have been added in the rolls. These include 2.68 lakh men and 1.93 lakh women. Apart from this, 4.03 lakh voters have been added in the age group 20-29 years, which consist of 1.45 lakh men and 2.57 women voters.
There are more than 4 lakh ‘divyang’ (people with disability) voters. The election commission has launched an app for them through which they registered.
The highest number of voter registration has been from Ahmedabad district, while 5.99 lakh voters have been registered in the city. The lowest number of voters is from Dangs at 1.93 lakh.
The total number of voters in Vadodara district is 26.02 lakh, Surat 47.39 lakh and Rajkot 23.05 lakh.
In Ahmedabad district, there are 31.17 lakh male, 28.75 lakh female and 211 third gender voters. The highest number of voters in the city are from Ghatlodia constituency – 4.26 lakh. The constituency is represented by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The lowest number -2.07 lakh are from Bapunagar.
Vatva has the most voters (3.95 lakh), followed by Vejalpur (3.87 lakh). The district has two reserved seats: Danielimda and Asarwa.
