The four Italian suspects will likely be questioned this week by the Kochi City police squad, which is on duty in Ahmedabad as part of the investigation into the vandalism of a Kochi Metro train.
The Italian nationals are being questioned by the Mumbai police for trespassing into the Charkop metro yard after being detained by the Gujarat Crime Branch for spray-painting graffiti on the Ahmedabad Metro Rail carriages.
On May 22, several unidentified individuals broke through the barbed fences at the Muttom metro yard and painted “burn play” and “first hit Kochi” on the coaches of a stationary metro train. Despite an investigation by the police, none of them could be located.
On September 28, four Italian citizens invaded the Ahmedabad metro yard and spray-painted. A day before the event, they attempted to do the same thing at Mumbai’s Charkop metro yard but were unsuccessful. Soon after, Cudini Gianluca, 24, Baldo Sacha, 29, Starinieri Daniele, 21, and Capecchi Paolo, 27, were detained by the Gujarat Crime Branch.
On Monday, the Italian nationals are set to be questioned by a Kerala police team led by the Kochi City station house officer, according to deputy commissioner of police S Sasidharan. The Italian nationals taken into custody by the Gujarat Crime Branch are now under the Mumbai police’s care, he added.
