A national conclave on “Women in Science & Technology: Fostering Innovation” for female researchers, scientists, and engineers is being organised by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), the Government of India, and the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) on September 29 and 30, 2022.
The conclave will be opened on September 29 at 9:30 am by Professor Sandeep Verma, Secretary, SERB, and Professor Amit Prashant, Officiating Director, IITGN.
The purpose of the event is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the attendees, inspire women working in science, technology, and engineering to transfer their original ideas into technology, and facilitate talks regarding translational research and its difficulties.
More than 150 women scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and postdoctoral fellows from industry and academia across the country are going to participate in the conclave. All these participants are recipients of SERB grants and fellowships and work on diverse research projects.
TWO-DAY CONCLAVE
Women in Leadership, Women in Industry and Technology Innovation, Challenges for Women in Industrial/Translational Research, Start-up Opportunities for Women Researchers, and Networking Session with Researchers are just a few of the intriguing technical topics scheduled for the two-day conclave.
A number of leading experts and researchers from the industry and academia will enlighten the participants with their experiences and insights on various aspects of discussion topics.
IITGN has deliberately built up a daycare facility to take care of their toddlers so that participating women scientists and researchers can attend the sessions without worrying about their children. The participants have largely praised this gesture.
