It has been a bleak year for bollywood many films which hit the theaters failed to amaze audience and also crashed in terms of box office collection. However, despite of boycott bollywood the much awaited Brahmastra: Part One Shiva received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
The story relies heavily on two aspects – its visual effects and the love story of its lead pair, Shiva and Isha, played by Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
A comic-book-style visuals and big star-cast the film is a treat for visual effects.
Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) a DJ player at a pub falls for Isha (Alia Bhatt) at the first sight. Eventually, love blooms between them and parallelly, Shiva’s connection with Agnyastra an element of fire is showed.
The film borrows from Indian mythology and folk tales, which is fantastic. The film shines in divisions like the VFX. The action choreography is a treat for the audience.
However, the film could not connect with audience in the love story part of its lead couple. As a result the film feels weak and the screenplay suffers, too.
As per reports the film earned Rs. 36.50 to 38.50 crores in the domestic market on its opening day, making it the biggest non-holiday release.
Trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com has reported Brahmastra’s collection at around Rs 35-36 crore in India.
