According to data released by the Union health ministry on Sunday morning, India reported 11,739 new cases of Covid-19, a 26% decrease from the 15,940 cases reported the day before. According to the government, up to 25 fatalities were reported in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 5,24,999.
The country’s total number of Covid-19 cases crept closer to 43.39 million, while the number of active cases increased to 92,576, according to the bulletin.
The country’s recovery rate exceeded 98.58%, according to the health ministry, while the number of active cases made up 0.21 percent of all infections.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.59 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 3.25 per cent, according to the data. Meanwhile, the Covid fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 per cent.
On the vaccination front, nearly two billion doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide Covid-19 inoculation drive.
