Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth Kapoor has been detained by Bengaluru Police on Sunday night for allegedly consuming drugs at a party in the city. According to reports, police raided a hotel on MG Road where the party was held after receiving a tip.
“Actor Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth Kapoor was detained during a police raid at a rave party in a Bengaluru hotel, last night. He is among the 6 people allegedly found to have consumed drugs,” said Bengaluru Police. Speaking to the media, Dr. Bheemashankar S. Guled, DCP, East division, Bengaluru City said, “Siddhanth Kapoor has tested positive for drugs. He has been brought to Ulsoor Police Station.”
Police have sent Siddhanth as well as samples from other people suspected of drug use. Siddhanth was one of six that tested positive. According to the reports, police are doubtful whether they consumed drugs before coming to the party or if they consumed them at the hotel.
As of now he is in police custody. Reacting to the detention, veteran actor Shakti Kapoor said, “I can say only one thing – it’s not possible”.
Shraddha Kapoor was one of those questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) earlier in 2020 in connection with the drugs case that was investigated following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However, nothing significant was found against the Bollywood actress.
