The central government has announced a hike in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees by 3%.
After the hike DA has been increase from 31% to 34%. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting of the Union government. The hike will be applicable from January 1, 2022
The increase in Dearness Allowance, or DA, comes as a relief to central government employees in the midst of rising fuel prices and rising inflation. The Covid-19 pandemic halted the increase in DA.
This will benefit about 47.68 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. It will be applicable for civilian employees and those employed in defence services.
The last DA hike was given in October last year when it was increased from 28 % to 31 %
