PETA India has named Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, who will soon share the screen in ‘Raksha Bandhan’, the Most Beautiful Vegetarian Celebrities of 2021.
Bhumi, who also strongly supports for environmental conservation and the climate crisis through her Climate Warrior campaign, became a vegetarian over a year ago because eating meat “didn’t feel good anymore.”
“Health comes first for Akshay,” he says, and the actor gets all of his protein from a plant-based diet. The “true-blue animal lover” also uses Twitter to speak up for animals of all species and raise awareness about animal cruelty.
Sachin Bangera, PETA India’s Director of Celebrity and Public Relations, stated, “Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are portraying how easy it is to stay fit and eco-friendly while saving animals, from being one of Bollywood’s fittest actors to leading a climate revolution from her dinner table. PETA India recognises them for being beautiful on the inside and out.”
Previously, prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actors Shraddha Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Manushi Chhillar, Anushka Sharma, Kartik Aaryan, Vidyut Jammwal, Shahid Kapoor, Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan, and footballer Sunil Chhetri received the Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity Award.
