People who have not yet received the Covid-19 vaccine will not be allowed entry in Kankaria zoo, Sabarmati Riverfront, and other public places from Monday, September 20, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) announced on Friday.
People who have not received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and those who are eligible to receive the second dose but haven’t taken it yet, will also be barred from AMC-run libraries, Gymkhana, swimming pools, AMC sports complex, city civic centres, and other AMC buildings, the civic body said in a statement. The corporation said that the unvaccinated people would also not be allowed to travel in AMTS and BRTS buses from September 20.
“The eligible people are appealed to get the Covid-19 vaccine at the earliest,” the AMC said.
According to official data, 53.03 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in Ahmedabad city so far. This includes 36.59 lakh people who have received at least one dose, and 16.44 lakh people who have received both doses.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has made elaborate arrangements for the vaccination drive in Ahmedabad city. Vaccines are being administered in all urban health centres, community halls, schools, and other campuses. As a part of the mega vaccination drive undertaken in the state, the AMC has administered over 1.35 lakh doses today.
