The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has increased examination fees by around 5 per cent for Classes 10 and 12 students appearing for the February-March 2027 board examinations.
For regular Class 10 students, the examination fee has been raised by Rs 20, from Rs 425 to Rs 445. The fee for repeaters and regular students enrolled under the Gujarat State Open School (GSOS) has also increased by Rs 20, from Rs 415 to Rs 435. Private candidates will now have to pay Rs 300, compared to the earlier fee of Rs 285.
Revised fees for Class 12 Science
For regular Class 12 Science students, the examination fee has been increased from Rs 725 to Rs 760.
The revised fee for repeater candidates will depend on the number of subjects they are appearing for. Students appearing for one subject will have to pay Rs 230, up from Rs 220, while the fee for two subjects has been increased from Rs 360 to Rs 380. For three subjects, the fee has been revised from Rs 505 to Rs 530. Repeaters appearing for more than three subjects will have to pay Rs 760.
In a significant change, the board has also opened the Class 12 Science examinations to private candidates. Previously, private candidates were not permitted to submit examination forms for this stream. The examination fee for them has been fixed at Rs 530.
Class 12 General stream fee revised
For regular candidates in the Class 12 General stream, the examination fee has been increased from Rs 590 to Rs 620. The revised fee will also apply to repeaters and regular GSOS students.
Private candidates appearing for the General stream will now have to pay Rs 360 instead of Rs 345.
The fee revision across both Class 12 streams amounts to approximately 5 per cent. The increase is understood to be linked to rising costs of examination-related stationery and other materials.
The board has announced the revised fee structure along with the commencement of the examination form-filling process. The Class 10 and 12 board examinations will be conducted from February 25 to March 17, 2027.
