The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced a significant change: seven zonal civic centers will now operate seven days a week. This means that residents can access essential municipal services even on holidays.
Typically, government offices only function during weekdays, forcing people to take time off work for necessary tasks. Starting now, the civic centers across all zones will be available every second and fourth Saturday, as well as every Sunday. Their hours are set from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
This initiative aims to improve public access to vital services like tax payments, birth and death certificates, and hall bookings. According to reports, these centers typically serve between 10,000 and 12,000 residents daily. With this extended schedule, officials hope to ease the burden on citizens managing their busy lives while ensuring they get the assistance they need without hassle.
