Gujarat University has postponed its undergraduate Semester 5 and postgraduate Semester 3 examinations from October 22 to October 27, according to a revised timetable issued by the university’s examination department.
The examinations for undergraduate Arts, Commerce, Science and other courses, along with postgraduate Semester 3 programmes, were originally scheduled to begin on October 22, shortly after Navratri. They will now commence on October 27.
November Exam Schedule Under Review
The revised timetable has also raised questions about examinations scheduled for November, as several students have expressed concerns over having to return to campus during the Diwali holidays.
Students have opposed the November examination schedule, arguing that it would disrupt their festival break. Some faculty members have also reportedly raised objections to being assigned examination duties during the vacation.
More Changes Possible
Amid growing concerns from students and faculty members, Gujarat University may reconsider the schedule for other Semester 3 examinations, which are currently scheduled to begin on November 18, during the Diwali vacation.
However, any further changes will depend on the university’s decision. Students have been advised to check the official university timetable for the latest updates.
