Road safety is a key focus under the initiative. Following discussions with the RTO and Commissioner of Road Safety Satish Patel, the education department has decided that minors will not be allowed to travel to school in cars or on two-wheelers.
Authorities are also examining whether certain gearless electric scooters that meet the applicable regulations can be permitted for students.Education department officials, along with the RTO and traffic police, will organise special awareness drives to educate students about the dangers of rash driving and the importance of safe road-crossing practices, Chaudhary said.
