B.R. Shetty, the founder of NMC Healthcare and UAE Exchange, has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking $15 billion (approximately ₹1.44 lakh crore) in compensation from Bank of Baroda and 24 other people.
Shetty has accused the bank of being involved in alleged financial irregularities, including the diversion of funds and the issuance of loans using forged signatures. He has also sought interest at the rate of 18% per annum on the claimed compensation amount.
The petition seeks compensation for the losses Shetty alleges were caused by the bank’s actions. The allegations are part of the legal case and have not been established as facts.
