The last weekend of September comes with a packed list of new films and series across India’s major streaming platforms. From Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Parineeti Chopra’s digital debut Shaque: Trust No One to Aneet Padda’s Hunkkaar: The Roar and Alia Bhatt-produced Don’t Be Shy, viewers have several new options to choose from between September 21 and 27.
The lineup also includes returning favourites such as Bakaiti and The Great Indian Kapil Show, along with the second season of reality series Rise & Fall. International titles including Unabomber and The Love Hypothesis add to the week’s selection.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups — ZEE5
Release date: September 25
Yash leads Geetu Mohandas’ action crime thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, set against the backdrop of post-Independence Goa. The story follows a gangster caught in a world of violence, shifting loyalties, betrayal and redemption. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani and Huma Qureshi also feature in the film.
The movie is scheduled to premiere digitally on ZEE5 on September 25 and will be available in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Shaque: Trust No One — Netflix
Release date: September 24
Parineeti Chopra makes her web-series debut with this mystery thriller centred on a mother searching for her daughter, who was abducted as a newborn. After nine years, fresh information emerges, forcing her to revisit the case and question the people closest to her.
Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sumeet Vyas, Harleen Sethi and Soni Razdan are part of the cast. The series consists of eight episodes.
Don’t Be Shy — Prime Video

Produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, Don’t Be Shy follows Shyamili “Shy” Das, a college student whose carefully planned life changes after a breakup. An unexpected friendship with her former boyfriend’s new girlfriend becomes the starting point for a story about relationships, ambition and growing up.
Hunkkaar: The Roar — JioHotstar

Aneet Padda stars as 17-year-old Meenu Rawat in Hunkkaar: The Roar, a drama centred on an allegation against a powerful spiritual leader. Fatima Sana Shaikh plays ACP Jasleen Singh Soni, who investigates the case as it draws attention from the police, courts, media and public.
Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Arjun Mathur, Raghubir Yadav and Ram Kapoor also star.
Bakaiti Season 2 — ZEE5
Release date: September 25
The Kataria family returns for another season of the family comedy-drama. With two Kataria households now sharing the same roof, financial concerns, clashing personalities and everyday disagreements create a fresh set of complications.
Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha, Aditya Shukla and Tanya Sharma return for the seven-episode second season.
Agadha — ZEE5
Release date: September 25
This Telugu supernatural thriller follows Mahadevi, a spiritually gifted woman who returns to her village following her cousin’s death. Her journey eventually leads her towards a forbidden forest cave and a mystery involving supernatural forces.
Directed by M.S. Raju, Agadha blends elements of horror, mystery and supernatural drama.
Unabomber — Netflix
Release date: September 25
Netflix’s Unabomber explores the story of Ted Kaczynski, who became known as the Unabomber. The narrative moves between his time at Harvard and the FBI investigation that eventually led authorities to identify him.
Jacob Tremblay plays Kaczynski, while Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley also feature in the series.
The Love Hypothesis — Prime Video
Release date: September 23
Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman star in this romantic comedy based on Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling novel. Reinhart plays Olive, a PhD student who unexpectedly kisses her intimidating professor Adam Carlsen.
A pretend relationship follows, but the arrangement becomes complicated as genuine feelings begin to emerge.
The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 — Netflix

Kapil Sharma returns with a new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The comedy-chat series brings back its familiar ensemble for another season of celebrity conversations, comedy and entertainment.
Rise & Fall Season 2 — Prime Video and MX Player

Rise & Fall returns with Virender Sehwag as host. The reality series once again places contestants into two groups — Rulers and Workers — as they compete in a game built around hierarchy, strategy and shifting power dynamics.
Mango Pachcha — JioHotstar
Release date: September 25
The Kannada crime drama follows Prashanth, a video-rental shop owner in Mysuru who discovers that his late father had been secretly involved in marijuana smuggling. Instead of abandoning the operation, Prashanth decides to take control of it.
This Tempting Madness — Lionsgate Play
Simone Ashley plays Mia, a woman who wakes from a coma with no memory of the preceding six months. She then learns that her husband Jake has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill her.
As Mia tries to reconstruct what happened, conflicting accounts from her husband and brother leave her questioning whom she can trust.
Brothers — Apple TV
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson headline this comedy as fictionalised versions of themselves. Their characters discover they may be half-brothers after Woody moves into Matthew’s Austin home following a family wedding.
The revelation sets off a series of chaotic family situations as the two attempt to deal with their unexpected connection.
