Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his appearances in several popular Hindi films, has died at the age of 56 after a battle with lung cancer. The actor had reportedly been undergoing treatment and was admitted to a hospital for around 15 days before his death.
Khan’s business partner Shivam confirmed the news to Hindustan Times City. According to him, the actor had earlier been diagnosed with lung cancer and had recovered after treatment. However, the disease reportedly returned around eight days ago, following which Khan was admitted to the hospital. Shivam said, “He passed away around 7pm on Thursday. He had been detected with lung cancer earlier and had got well. However, it relapsed eight days back and had to be admitted to the hospital. It was last stage cancer.”
Mushtaq Khan’s Film Journey
Mushtaq Khan was a familiar face in Hindi cinema, particularly through his supporting appearances in films across different genres. His acting career included projects such as Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai (1980), Kaalia (1981), Aashiqui (1990), Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991) and Sadak (1991).
Over the years, he went on to feature in several well-known films, including Judwaa (1997), Hera Pheri (2000), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Rowdy Rathore (2012), Khiladi 786 (2012), Stree (2018) and Badhaai Do (2022). His performances in supporting roles made him a recognisable presence among Hindi film audiences.
Cancer Relapse Before His Death
Khan had reportedly battled lung cancer earlier and had managed to recover. However, according to his business partner, the disease relapsed shortly before his death. His condition was described as being at an advanced stage, and he was subsequently hospitalised for treatment. He died on Thursday evening at the age of 56.
