The Gujarat government has extended its ban on gutkha and pan masala containing tobacco or nicotine for another year, starting September 13, 2026.The ban covers the manufacture, storage, distribution, transportation and sale of such products across the state.
The decision has been taken as part of the government’s efforts to curb tobacco consumption and protect public health.The prohibition, which has been in place in Gujarat for several years, will continue for another year under the state’s food safety and tobacco-control regulations.
Authorities have also warned that strict action will be taken against those found violating the ban.
