The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, will create a distinctive logo and visual identity for the Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram Memorial Trust (MGSAMT) as part of a new collaboration aimed at bringing professional design expertise to the ashram’s development.
Under the MoU, NID will provide inputs on museum design, content review and the overall “look and feel” of the ashram. The institute will help ensure that new developments remain in harmony with the historic character of the heritage precinct.
NID will also develop a curated range of souvenirs inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s life and values, giving the ashram’s history a contemporary design expression.
