With the beginning of the holy month of Shravan, the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has launched a special bus service for devotees and citizens wishing to visit religious places across the city.
More than 100 non-AC buses will operate on different routes during Shravan. The service will pick up passengers from designated points and return them after completing the religious tour.
Bus Charges for Shravan Religious Tours
Citizens can book the service from the Lal Darwaza, Sarangpur, Wadaj and Maninagar AMTS termini.
- AMC limits: ₹3,000 per bus
- AUDA limits: ₹5,000 per bus
Passengers will need to submit a copy of their property tax bill along with the completed booking receipt.
Tours to Run From Morning to Evening
The special buses will operate from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm. Each bus normally has 30 seats, with arrangements to accommodate up to 40 passengers.
AMTS Committee Chairman Parag Naik said the religious bus service is organised every Shravan to help citizens visit Mahadev temples and other religious places across Ahmedabad. This year, religious sites in both the eastern and western parts of the city have been included.
One Lakh People Used the Service Last Year
The service received a strong response last year, with around one lakh people using the religious tour facility. More than 1,000 trips were conducted to various religious destinations.
Based on the response, AMTS has deployed more than 100 buses on different routes this year.

The Shravan religious tour will cover 30 religious destinations across Ahmedabad, including:
