Nigam shared a video from the procedure on social media, showing himself singing Mohammed Rafi’s classic “Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki” while undergoing surgery. In his post, the singer described the moment as an “impromptu performance” for Dr Nilesh Satbhai and his team and wrote about “singing in the pain” and “the joy of music.”
The unusual video quickly drew attention online, with fans expressing surprise at Nigam’s ability to sing while undergoing a medical procedure. Reports said the doctors were also taken aback by the spontaneous performance and enjoyed the musical interlude.
Why Was Sonu Nigam Undergoing Surgery?
Nigam’s recent health issues have involved a nerve-related condition. In June, the singer had revealed that he had been dealing with painful pinched nerves and had undergone MRI and CT scans, along with medication and physiotherapy. He had also spoken about the discomfort caused by the condition.
Reports on the latest procedure said the surgery was performed to treat a recurring growth on Nigam’s left ring finger. The singer later explained that his decision to sing during the procedure was spontaneous and “just happened organically.”
