India celebrated a double podium finish in the men’s Shot Put F57 event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Soman Rana clinched the gold medal and Shubman Juyal secured silver at Scotstoun Stadium on Saturday.
Soman Rana produced the best throw of the competition, registering a distance of 13.40 metres to claim the top spot on the podium. Shubman Juyal followed closely with a throw of 13.28 metres, earning the silver medal and ensuring a memorable one-two finish for India.
The twin success further underlined India’s impressive performance in para-athletics at the Commonwealth Games, with the country’s athletes continuing to add to the medal tally through consistent performances across disciplines.
