The Gujarat government’s Social Justice and Empowerment Department has issued revised guidelines outlining the eligibility criteria and recruitment process for appointing teaching staff in grant-in-aid Ashram Shalas.
For primary classes (Classes 1–5), candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination and possess a recognised teacher training qualification such as PTC, Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or Diploma in Education (Special Education). District-level vacancies will primarily be filled by candidates with HSC and PTC/D.El.Ed. qualifications.
Applicants must also have cleared the TET-1 examination before the last date for submitting applications.
For upper primary classes (Classes 6–8), separate eligibility norms have been prescribed for Mathematics-Science and Language teachers. Candidates must hold the required academic and professional teaching qualifications and must have qualified the TET-2 examination with the prescribed minimum marks before the application deadline.
