Traffic movement has partially resumed in Ahmedabad after authorities reopened 11 of the 17 underpasses that were closed following heavy rainfall and severe waterlogging. However, six underpasses remain shut as water continues to accumulate, with civic teams carrying out continuous dewatering operations.
The underpasses were closed on Wednesday after torrential rain flooded several parts of the city, making them unsafe for vehicles. Following sustained drainage efforts, water levels have receded at 11 locations, allowing traffic to resume.

Traffic resumes at 11 underpasses
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has reopened 11 underpasses after clearing accumulated rainwater and restoring safe traffic movement.
Dewatering work continues
The AMC said pumps have been deployed at waterlogged locations to speed up drainage. Civic teams are monitoring flood-prone areas, and motorists have been advised to avoid closed underpasses and follow official traffic diversions until normal conditions are restored.
