The Gabbar Ropeway at Ambaji, one of India’s revered pilgrimage destinations and among the 51 Shakti Peethas, will remain closed for four days, from July 21 to July 24, to facilitate its annual maintenance.
The ropeway operator, Usha Breco Limited, has announced the temporary suspension to carry out routine inspection, servicing and safety checks of the system. The maintenance work will include a comprehensive examination of the wire ropes, trolleys and other mechanical and technical components to ensure safe operations.
During the four-day shutdown, devotees will not be able to use the ropeway to reach Gabbar Hill. However, the temple will remain accessible through the staircase leading to the hill, allowing pilgrims to continue offering prayers.
The Gabbar Ropeway is a major attraction for pilgrims visiting Ambaji, carrying thousands of devotees to the hilltop shrine every day. The service is expected to resume on July 25 after the completion of the scheduled maintenance work.
