The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has partially closed a key road in the Kankaria area after a stormwater drain (SWD) duct developed a major fault, prompting traffic diversions and extensive repair work.
According to civic officials, the affected stretch connects Kankaria Lake to Bhulabhai, between the Football Ground and Kankaria. Traffic has been diverted to alternate routes while repair work is underway.
The disruption has also led to the partial closure of the road linking Kankaria Lake and Anupam Cinema, affecting vehicular movement in the busy locality.
AMC officials said the repair work is extensive and is expected to take more than a month to complete. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and cooperate with traffic diversions until the restoration work is finished.
