The first round of admissions to undergraduate engineering courses at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has left only 194 seats vacant in the Faculty of Technology, with most expected to be filled during the second round of counselling.
According to faculty officials, all seats were initially allotted, but some students did not complete the admission process as they secured seats at prestigious institutes such as IITs and NITs. These vacant seats will now be offered to eligible candidates in the next admission round.
The highest demand was seen for Chemical Engineering and Electronics Engineering, where only one and three seats, respectively, remained vacant after the first round. In Computer Science, 12 government-aided seats and 19 self-financed seats were left unfilled.
Meanwhile, the largest number of vacant seats was reported in the university’s textile-related branches, including Textile Processing, Textile Engineering and Textile Technology.
