The first round of Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) admissions conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has left 68 of the total 790 seats vacant, with most of the unfilled seats in self-financed colleges.
According to ACPC, 722 students were allotted seats across 20 architecture institutes in the state. Both government-aided (Grant-in-Aid) colleges filled all 100 available seats, while Centres of Excellence (CoE) filled 173 of 197 seats, leaving 24 seats vacant. Self-financed institutes allotted 449 of 493 seats, with 44 seats remaining unfilled.
A total of 1,130 candidates were included in the merit list, of whom 1,018 participated in the online choice-filling process by submitting 6,890 course preferences. However, 112 students did not receive a seat as their preferences did not match their merit rank.
The online choice-filling process was held from July 8 to July 12, and the first-round allotment results were declared on July 14.
Compared to last year, student participation has increased. In 2025, 1,069 candidates took part in the admission process, with 649 students securing seats out of 722 available.
ACPC has advised candidates to regularly check the official admission portal for further counselling updates and contact the helpline if they need assistance.
