Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) has announced temporary changes to several BRTS routes in view of Muharram (Tajiya) processions scheduled on Friday, June 26. The revised traffic and bus operation arrangements will come into effect from 1:30 pm and remain in force until further notice.
Under the revised schedule, BRTS Route No. 07 (Narol–Sarangpur Darwaja) and Route No. 101 (RTO Circle Circular Service) will remain completely suspended during the period.
Several routes will operate on shortened stretches. Route No. 02 will run only between ISKCON Cross Road and Law Garden instead of its regular Odhav S.P. Ring Road–ISKCON Cross Road route. Route No. 11 will operate between Odhav S.P. Ring Road and Ajit Mill Crossroad in place of its regular service up to L.D. Engineering College. Route No. 09 will run between Gota Vasantnagar Township and L.D. Engineering College instead of Maninagar and Gota Vasantnagar Township. Similarly, Route No. 14 will operate between Sanand Circle and Danilimda Crossroad instead of Sarangpur Darwaja.
AJL said services on all other major BRTS routes, including Maninagar–Ghuma Village, RTO Circle–Maninagar, L.D. Engineering College–Amba Township/Jhundal Circle, ISKCON Cross Road–RTO Circle/Airport, Vasna–Hanspura Ring Road, RTO Circle–Rabari Colony, Naroda S.T. Workshop–Narol, Nehrunagar–Sanand Circle, Jhundal Circle–Sarkari Litho Press Cabin, Nehrunagar–South Bopal Terminus and Naroda Gam–Bhadaj Circle, will continue to operate as per schedule.
Bus operations will also remain suspended at several BRTS stations and cabins located along the procession route. These include Soma Textiles, Narayana Hospital, Kalupur Ghee Bazaar, Kalupur, Sarangpur Darwaja, Karnamukteshwar Mahadev, Raipur Darwaja, Astodia Darwaja, Astodia Chakla, Municipal Office, Raikhad Crossroad, Lokmanya Tilak Bagh, M.J. Library, Geeta Mandir, Bhulabhai Park and Mangal Park.
Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with authorities during the Muharram observances.
