India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has announced the temporary suspension of flights to six international destinations as part of a broader network optimisation strategy aimed at aligning capacity with seasonal demand and current operating conditions.
The airline will suspend services to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Shanghai from July 1, while flights to Siem Reap will be paused from July 3. The suspensions are expected to remain in effect until September 30.
According to IndiGo, the move comes amid traditionally softer travel demand during the upcoming quarter, coupled with a challenging cost environment. The airline said bookings for the affected routes will reopen from October 1, subject to improved market conditions, while retaining the flexibility to restore services earlier if circumstances permit.
Despite the temporary adjustments, IndiGo noted that it has preserved the vast majority of its international network, continuing to operate more than 1,800 weekly international flights.
“These measured changes are designed to align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends, while ensuring the airline maintains reliability and network integrity across its global destinations,” the airline said in a statement.
IndiGo added that it will continue to closely monitor market dynamics, elevated operating costs and ongoing airspace restrictions before making further network decisions.
