The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has intensified its anti-encroachment and illegal parking drive in the city’s North Zone through a series of joint operations aimed at reducing traffic congestion and ensuring smoother movement of public transport.
As part of the drive, teams carried out action along the stretch from Memco intersection to Saijpur Tower via Naroda Patiya and Vijay Park intersection, focusing on removing road obstructions and clearing illegally parked vehicles. Several vehicles were locked and fined during the operation.
To tackle persistent congestion near the Memco Bridge in Saijpur Bogha ward, AMC formed a coordinated enforcement team comprising officials from the Estate and Urban Development Department, Naroda Police Station, Shaherkotda Police Station, G-Division Traffic Police, and E-Division Traffic Police.
In another operation conducted in Naroda Ward, civic teams cleared encroachments and illegal parking along major routes including Galaxy Crossroads to Naroda Bus Stand, Naroda Fountain to Naroda Crematorium, and stretches extending towards Fish Circle, Adeshwar Canal, Navayug Crossroads, and Mama Kalyan Chowk. Officials said the drive was aimed at easing traffic pressure and improving road accessibility in the area.
