Passengers travelling on an IndiGo flight from Vadodara to Delhi reportedly experienced severe discomfort after the aircraft’s air-conditioning system failed while the plane was grounded at the airport.
According to travellers onboard flight 6E657, the incident took place before take-off when the aircraft was stationed on the tarmac. Passengers alleged that both the air-conditioning and cabin lighting stopped working, causing temperatures inside the aircraft to rise sharply.
Several passengers claimed the aircraft doors remained closed during the delay, making the cabin feel increasingly “suffocating” and triggering panic among some travellers.
Videos and photos shared on social media showed passengers using newspapers and magazines to fan themselves due to the heat and lack of ventilation.
