Amul has raised the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre. This marks the second increase this year for the popular dairy brand, known for its wide range of products across India.
The Gujarat-based cooperative announced the hike as a response to escalating input costs. Consumers are feeling the pinch as these increases reflect broader trends in food pricing.
“We have no choice but to pass on these costs,” a spokesperson explained. “It’s necessary to ensure we can maintain quality and supply.” The company’s decision came amid ongoing discussions about inflation and rising expenses in various sectors.
This adjustment means that consumers will now pay more at local shops and supermarkets, which could affect overall purchasing habits. With prices steadily climbing, many families are bracing for tighter budgets.
