In a significant operation on Friday, Sarkhej police seized 792 beer cans that had been shipped from Mumbai. This seizure comes just days after another major find in the same area, highlighting ongoing concerns about illegal liquor transport.
The beer cans were discovered stored in a warehouse, disguised under the name of a chemical company. Authorities say the consignment had been lying there for several days before they acted on a tip-off and executed the raid. Now, police are working to track down whoever placed the order for this shipment.
This isn’t an isolated incident. Just four days prior, officers confiscated 5,600 liquor bottles from Gujarat Goods Transport located at Sahyog Estate along the Sarkhej-Sanand Highway. Like this latest bust, that shipment was also imported from Mumbai using chemical barrels and was destined for Gandhidham in Kutch.
The repeated seizures underscore a growing pattern of illicit liquor operations in the region. Authorities are urged to remain vigilant as investigations continue.
