Offline registration for the annual Char Dham Yatra began Thursday, attracting a strong turnout. On the first day alone, 2,713 pilgrims signed up in person.
The yatra is set to commence on April 19, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya, a significant day for Hindus. Registration counters have been established at various locations to facilitate this process.

According to official figures, the registration breakdown shows:
– 683 for Yamunotri Temple
– 690 for Gangotri Temple
– 667 for Kedarnath Temple
– 673 for Badrinath Temple.
Special Teams Offer Support
Citing feedback from officials, special teams are also visiting major transit points. They aim to provide on-the-spot registration options for devotees unable to register in advance.
A Strong Online Response
The online registration opened March 6 and has already seen remarkable participation. Nearly 18.23 lakh pilgrims have registered digitally so far, bringing the combined total of online and offline registrations to approximately 18.25 lakh.
The Sacred Journey Ahead
The Char Dham Yatra encompasses four revered shrines in Uttarakhand: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—each significant in Hindu tradition.
Pilgrims are urged to carry valid identification and adhere strictly to safety protocols as they journey through the challenging Himalayan terrain.
