The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed a dairy unit in Nana Chiloda for allegedly making and selling fake paneer as real paneer.
This action was taken during a special drive by AMC’s Health Department to check the quality of paneer used by hotels, restaurants, and food manufacturers across the city. The unit, Vraj Dairy, was found producing “analogue paneer” and selling it as genuine paneer in different parts of Gujarat.
Due to health concerns and misleading customers, officials immediately sealed the unit under the GPMC Act for an indefinite period. Around 100 kg of fake paneer, worth ₹24,000, was found and its sale has been stopped.AMC officials said strict action will be taken against anyone found breaking food safety rules during these inspections.
