Big Changes Coming to Ahmedabad Roads
So, the Hatkeshwar Bridge in Ahmedabad is kinda going through some major changes right now—like, it’s been under demolition for six months and they’re finally tearing down the last bits. Which is wild! After local traders were complaining about how slow the work was going, the authorities decided to switch up traffic patterns to take down those final two spans.
What’s Happening?
The traffic diversion’s gonna be in place until April 4th, or until they wrap up all demolition work (whenever that might be). During this time, y’all are gonna have to find different routes if you’re traveling between Guruji Bridge and Amraiwadi—day and night. And, honestly? It might get a bit congested around Hatkeshwar crossroads since heavy traffic flows through there.
How Are They Managing It?
Officials are saying they really wanna make sure everything goes smoothly while getting rid of the bridge. Since it’s already been demolished on both ends up to the middle part, they’re being extra careful with those remaining spans so they don’t mess up other nearby structures (you feel me?).
If you’re coming from Guruji Bridge in Maninagar, you’ll now need to move past K.C. Tea Stall (it’s like right next to part of the bridge) then head towards Amraiwadi Swastik Crossroads instead. Meanwhile, if you’re coming from Amraiwadi Swastik Crossroads, just go through that open space created by earlier demolitions—same route toward Guruji Bridge.
The demolition will happen in phases—after each span comes down they’ll use that cleared spot as a temporary detour route. Traffic police will also be on-site 24/7 trying to keep things under control. So yeah… prepare for some delays!
