Ahmedabad witnessed a significant operation by the Income Tax Department on March 20, 2026. Officials launched coordinated searches at roughly 20 locations linked to Mayur Dychem, a chemical manufacturing company based in the Vatva GIDC area.
The raids began early in the morning and targeted various premises associated with the firm’s partners, identified as Mayur Patel and Sujal Patel. Locations included not only the company’s office and factory but also several residential properties, notably in the Sola area.
Reports suggest that these searches stem from ongoing investigations into alleged tax evasion and suspected benami transactions involving Mayur Dychem. Teams are combing through financial records, bank statements, lockers, and digital documents as part of their inquiry.
Eye-witnesses noted several luxury vehicles parked outside a lavish bungalow called Aashirwad, which is reportedly tied to one of the firm’s partners. Sources indicate that this operation might uncover undisclosed income along with potential investments masked through benami holdings.
While expectations are high for what officials may find—cash, jewelry, and vital property documents—the Income Tax Department has yet to release any official statement concerning the results of the extensive searches.
