As the world celebrates the 115th International Women’s Day on March 8 this year, Gopal Snacks stands as a beacon of inclusive growth, demonstrating that empowering women uplifts entire communities. For Gopal Snacks, this occasion is more than a calendar event; it embodies the company’s steadfast belief that gender equality and financial independence are foundations of a resilient society.
The company’s commitment to diversity is evident in its workforce demographics, with Gopal Snacks proudly employing more than 1,400+ women across its operations. This dedication to inclusivity is a dynamic mission; over the last 3–5 years, the company has seen an increase of about 25% in the hiring of women, fueled by proactive policies and skill-based recruitment.
Beyond the numbers, Gopal Snacks has built a unique culture of trust where family bonds extend into the workplace. It is common to find mothers, daughters, and sisters working side-by-side, creating a supportive ecosystem where they share responsibilities and celebrate professional growth. This environment transforms the workplace into a ‘second home’, fostering financial stability and a profound sense of pride among its female employees.
Gopal Snacks, Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Bipin Hadvani says, “Empowering women through employment not only strengthen families but also contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of society. Our vision is to build a workforce that values diversity and equality,”
Central to its welfare initiatives is the Kariyavar (Kanya Vivah) bonus scheme. Launched in 2016, this scheme provides financial support to unmarried women employees at the time of their wedding. Since its inception, the company has disbursed Rs. 6.96 crore, benefiting 506 women. The 2024–25 period marked a historic high, with Rs. 2.01 crore distributed to a record 125 beneficiaries, who included a single woman receiving Rs. 5.74 lakh as bonus.
Gopal Snacks, Chief of Staff, Mrs. Shivangi Hadvani, says, “The Kanya Vivah bonus is our way of showing gratitude. A wedding is an important milestone, and we believe it is our duty to support our female colleagues emotionally and financially as they begin a new journey,”
Rajkot-headquartered Gopal Snacks has emerged, since its establishment in 1999, as a leading player in India’s organized traditional snack sector. Over the years, it has built a reputation for quality, consistency, and a deeply inclusive corporate culture.
